Change the settings of an application¶
By the end of this guide a setting of your managed application is changed and live. It takes about two minutes.
The overview explains what a managed application is and what your home project is.
Prerequisites¶
- A managed application in your home project
- An account that can log in to https://console.grn.cloud
1. Open the application¶
Open the Applications page with your tenant name in the address:
Click the name of the application.
2. Change the settings¶
- Open the YAML tab.
- Find the block
spec.source.helm.valuesObject. It holds the settings of the application. - Change a value, or add one.
- Click Save.
spec:
source:
helm:
valuesObject: # (1)!
hosts:
nextcloud: cloud.example.com
- Change values below this line only. The other fields of the
Applicationare managed by GRN.CLOUD.
Which settings exist depends on the application. If you do not know the name of a setting, ask support.

3. Watch the change go live¶
You do not start a deployment. The change is deployed automatically, usually in less than a minute.
On the Details tab, Sync Status reads Synced and Health Status reads
Healthy when the change is live. Progressing means that pods are still starting.
If the change does not go live¶
The Sync Status tab shows the error message. Limits and troubleshooting explains the common ones.
A wrong value does not break the running application as long as the new pods do not start: the old pods keep running. Set the value back and save again.
